Description
Old Poplar Farmhouse is a house built around 1840, constructed of red brick. It features a hipped slate roof that extends over the eaves and is supported by wooden brackets. The house has single brick stacks at the left gable and ridge. It is two storeys high and has three bays in an L-plan layout. The building is set on an ashlar plinth and has a stuccoed band at the first floor level. The central doorway has a panelled door with an overlight, flanked by single pilasters and single glazing bar marginal sashes, with additional similar pilasters supporting a moulded entablature above. On either side of the doorway are single glazing bar sashes, with three similar sashes located above them. All windows feature flush splayed brick lintels. At the rear of the house, there are later single storey extensions.
