Description
Moat Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse located on Low Street in Torworth. It is constructed of red brick and features a pantile roof with a single gable stack on the left and dentillated eaves. The building is two storeys high and has five bays in an L-plan layout.
The main entrance includes a wooden door with a plain surround, an overlight, and a 20th-century brick and glazed gabled porch. To the right of the doorway is a glazing bar sash window, while to the left there is another sash window and a blocked window. On the upper floor, there are two glazing bar sashes alternating with three blocked windows, all of which are set under segmental arches.
To the right, there is a single-bay, two-storey projection that contains one sash window on each floor. The east side of the farmhouse has a hipped roof and two gable stacks, with three bays. This side features a central blocked doorway that has been replaced by a fixed light with a 20th-century pedimented hood supported on brackets. It is flanked by single sash windows, with three similar sashes above, the central one being smaller. All openings on this side are also under segmental arches.
