Description

Bishopfield House is an early 19th-century house constructed of stucco, featuring a hipped slate roof with a rendered stack on the left and a ridge stack. The projecting eaves are supported by brackets and have an eaves band, with slightly projecting pilasters at the outer edges. The north front has two storeys and three bays, with moulded bands at the first floor and a sill band. The house is set on a plinth, with a slightly projecting central bay that includes a central doorway with a panelled door, a traceried overlight, and a moulded surround. The porch is supported by two pairs of Doric columns. To the right, there is a glazing bar casement in a relieving arch, and to the left, two narrow glazing bar sashes are flanked by single similar sashes outside the arch. Above, there is a central tripartite glazing bar sash flanked by single glazing bar sashes. To the left, there is a 1.5-storey, three-bay extension made of painted brick and slate, featuring a single brick ridge stack, a small casement, a large tripartite glazing bar sash, and three small glazing bar sashes above. The garden or west front has two storeys and four bays, set on a plinth with first floor and sill bands. It includes four glazing bar sashes with four smaller similar sashes above. There is also a single-storey, four-bay verandah with a sloping roof and decorative wooden fascia, supported by seven iron piers.
