Description
This barn and cow house, located approximately 50 metres northwest of The Felthouse, dates back to the 17th century and has some alterations from the 20th century. It is constructed from coursed dressed and squared stone with a tiled roof featuring verge parapets on corbelled kneelers, though part of the coping is now missing. The building has a long, low frontage that includes a hay loft above the byres and sheds. There is a single boarded hay loft door positioned to the right of centre, along with two slit vents to the right and one to the left. The ground floor features three heavy-lintel 17th-century door openings located in the centre and to the right, with the outer pair blocked by top-hung casements. There is also a further 20th-century casement to the right of the operational door, and large double boarded doors to the left. The barn faces The Felthouse across a substantial fold-yard.
