Description
This barn, located approximately 20 meters north of Lanehead Farmhouse, dates back to the 17th century and was altered and extended around 1830. It is constructed from coursed dressed and squared stone with a tiled roof, featuring hay lofts above cow sheds. The barn has a long, low front with four hay loft doors, one of which is in a gablet to the left. There is a casement window to the left end and seven entrances inset from the left, one of which has been converted into a casement window. A straight joint with three doors from the right indicates that there were two separate builds, with the earlier one on the left. At the rear, there is a part-obscured 19th-century datestone on the gabled wing.
