Description
This barn, located approximately 20 meters north of Sutton House, dates from the 17th century and features 19th-century alterations. It is constructed from coursed squared and dressed stone, topped with a tiled roof. The building has an L-plan shape with a pent outshut at the rear. The long front, measuring about 25 meters, includes a hay loft situated above a cow shed. There are two hay loft doors at the upper level, with eight vents on the ground floor flanking a boarded door that is positioned to the left of center and features a heavy 17th-century lintel. The rear elevation facing the lane has a door similar in detail to the one at the front, with a lean-to extending up to the south side of this door. Internally, the roof structure consists of 19th-century tie and king posts.
