Description

Spring House is a spring house dated 1845, constructed from finely coursed and dressed stone. It features a square spring basin that is enclosed on three sides by stonework, with an opening on the east side topped by a Tudor arch inscribed with "18 TH 45". The structure has a cornice set below a pyramidal roof made of large stepped-in blocks, and it is crowned by a wrought iron weather-vane that stands approximately 2 meters high with a firebrand arrow pointer. This building serves as a distinctive focal point at the head of Gratton Lane.
