Description
The Plough Inn is an inn built in the early 19th century, with some alterations and additions made in the 20th century. It features red brick that is partially rendered, with painted stone quoins, a plinth, and dressings. The roof is hipped and tiled with a low pitch, consisting of two parts, and has an end stack and a ridge stack at the center. The main front has two storeys and three windows, with large flat-roofed semi-circular bays on either side. Each bay has bands of three glazing bar sashes separated by painted columns, along with painted cills, heads, and a cornice. The entrance is located to the right of the central bay, accessed by a flight of six steps that have 20th-century handrails. Above the entrance is a steep pediment over a raised surround, leading to a part-glazed 20th-century door. There is a set-back link block and a projecting wing to the left, which are not included in the listing.
