Description
Grange Farmhouse, along with its attached byre and barn, features an earlier core with a mid-19th century frontage. The building is constructed of coursed stone and red brick, topped with a tiled roof and featuring brick ridge and side stacks. It has a large 'L'-shaped plan, with the farm buildings occupying the entire east wing.
The house front is two storeys and divided into two parts. The left side has an ashlar-faced projecting gable with verge parapets on shaped kneelers. It includes a central labelled 3-light block mullioned casement window on the first floor and a 4-light window on the ground floor. The main range, set back to the right, is primarily red brick, except for the end bay on the right, which is made of coursed stone. This section has three casement windows with irregular spacing and a boarded door located beneath the central window.
The attached farm buildings have lower eaves but share the same ridge height. They return to the right and feature two hay loft doors at the upper level. There is a large blocked segmental arch at the right end, with a boarded door immediately to the left and two widely spaced windows further left. A 2-light block mullioned window is present on the gable end.
