Description
Grange Farmhouse is a farmhouse that features a late 18th-century rear wing, an early 19th-century front wing, and a mid-20th-century west extension. The building is constructed of red brick, partly colourwashed, with slate and pantiled roofs.
The east side of the rear wing is two storeys high and has a three-window range. It includes a central three-over-six unhorned sash window, a plank door, and a 20th-century casement window to the left, with another 20th-century casement window to the right. The south front is also two storeys high with a three-window range. It has a central six-panelled door, which was renewed in 1994, located below a four-vaned fanlight. The windows are six-over-six unhorned sashes set under gauged skewback arches, and the roof is hipped with two stacks on the rear wall.
Inside, there is an open-string stick-baluster staircase featuring a ramped and wreathed handrail. The rear wing has chamfered bridging beams with tongue stops on both floors.
The property is also accompanied by cast iron railings, which have square-section standards topped with globular finials. The railings include circular-section verticals with fleur-de-lys finials and similar dog rails, along with two gates and two runs extending from the south-west corner of the house, returning east.
