Description
Hollin House is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with some minor restoration in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed dressed and squared stone, topped with a tiled roof featuring verge parapets with pitched coping and corbelled kneelers. The house has a central ridge stack and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window front. The windows are labelled 3-light chamfered mullioned windows, with a 2-light window in the centre of the first floor, and the composition is offset to the left. There are large gabled dormers and deeper ground-floor windows. A 20th-century boarded door with a restored lintel is set under the centre of the composition. The end gable features a range of four windows arranged in a pattern of 2:3:3:2 lights. Inside, there is a large fireplace located behind the front door.
