Description
The Black and White Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with later alterations and additions. It is constructed with a timber frame, painted brick infill panels, and re-facing, topped with a brown tile roof; it was originally thatched. The cottage has a lobby entry plan, which has been altered. The front is a 1½-storey, four-window, two-bay design with square framing. It features 19th-century casement windows and an eyebrow dormer on the right, formerly designed to support thatch. A blocked gabled porch is located on the left. An attached cottage is included in the listing for group value.
