Description
High Hall is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of red brick with stone quoins and features a coved eaves cornice. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with brown tiles, and there is a cruciform ridge stack to the left of the center and an end stack. The building has a cross passage plan and is two stories high with a four-window front. The entrance is located to the left of the center and includes a raised chamfered stone plinth, a band at the first-floor level, and the aforementioned coved eaves cornice and quoins. The windows are 19th-century mullioned and transomed casements, with two and three lights, and there is a six-panel door with reeded pilastered surrounds, a bracketed hood, and an overlight. Inside, there is a late 17th-century dog-leg stair at the rear of the cross passage, featuring flat moulded balusters and a heavy square handrail, along with heavy beams in the room to the right of the entrance.
