Description
Number 2, Rectory Cottages is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. It features a timber frame with brick infill and re-facing, topped by a brown tile roof. The building has end stacks and is one and a half storeys high, with a three-window front that includes casements and dormers, along with a boarded door. The rear of the cottage has one bay in brick on the left side, which includes a segmental arched doorway, and two bays in timber frame above a bressumer. The framing consists of square panels and diagonal braces at the wallplate where the bays divide. Inside, the cottage has exposed beams and joists in both ground floor rooms, and the wall framing is also exposed at the rear.
