GV II Milepost. C19. Hollow cast iron triangular with sloping top. Painted white with raised lettering in black and black painted base. The base bears the founder's mark: 'CHARLES LATHE & Co./TIPTON' Inscription reads: Left: NEWBOROUGH 4 ½ MARCHINGTON 7 ½ ABBOTS BROMLEY 8 UTTOXETER 11 Right: BURTON 3 Top: ROLLESTONE

SUMMARY OF IMPORTANCE: This milepost survives well in its original location and forms part of a group, many of which are listed, marking out routes in East Staffordshire.
