Description
No. 26 Broadway is a former inn dating from the 17th century, with a 20th-century re-facing. The building features a timber frame that is now covered with rendered facing and has planted timbers, topped with an old tile roof. It consists of two framed bays and has a wing at the rear, standing two storeys tall. The gable ends are parapeted, with an end stack to the left and a ridge stack on the rear wing. On the first floor, there are two 20th-century flat-topped canted bays that contain diamond leaded casements, and a central pair of 20th-century boarded doors.
Inside, there was a former carriageway to the right, which is likely blocked due to the re-facing. The ground floor features a fireplace with a chamfered lintel and queen post roof trusses. The building is listed for its retained timber frame behind the 20th-century re-facing and is included for its group value.
