Description
The Old Malthouse is a house that dates from the 16th and 17th centuries, with an early 19th-century re-facing. It features a timber frame with later rendered brick facing and an old tile roof. The building is designed in a baffle entry style and consists of two framed bays over two and a half storeys. Notable architectural details include a plinth, a first-floor plat band, a toothed brick eaves cornice, and two gabled eaves dormers with two-light casements. There is a central ridge stack located above the door. The front has two windows with segmental-headed glazing bar sashes and a central segmental-headed boarded door. Inside, the structure retains a two-storey timber frame from the 16th century, which was heightened in the 17th century and re-faced in the early 19th century.
