Description
Number 14, including the shop to the left, is a house and shop that dates from the 17th and 19th centuries. It features a rendered timber frame with a painted brick addition on the left and old tile roofs. The building has an L-plan layout, with a two-bayed gabled cross wing on the right, one storey on the left, and two storeys on the right. The right-hand gable has plain bargeboards and a finial, with a stack located off-ridge to the right.
On the first floor, there is a three-light 19th-century casement window in the gable end to the right. The ground floor includes a six-light wooden mullioned and transomed 19th-century window to the right and two canted bay shop windows to the left. There are two central doors: a half-glazed door to the left with a segmental two-light overlight, and a four-panelled door to the right with glazed upper panels. An exposed queen post truss can be seen in the gable end at the rear.
