Description
No. 2 Quay Street is an inn that dates from the late 17th century or early 18th century. The building is rendered with a tiled roof and features brick stacks. It is divided into two parts; the left side has a wide frontage with a parapet and stands two stories tall with an attic, displaying two windows. There is a central gabled dormer with a two-light casement window behind the parapet, and below, there are two- and three-light wooden casement windows with horizontal bars, all set in deep reveals with painted architraves above the ground floor. The central entrance has a 20th-century door. A plain band runs along the blocking course with stone coping. On the right side, there is a gable facing the street, which has a six-pane sash window in a painted surround above a 20th-century glazed door that leads to a former garage opening, now blocked. There is a brick stack at the back eaves on the left and a lofty shouldered stack on the right gable. The interior has not been inspected.
