Description
No. 19 High Street is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century. It features thin timber-framing with rendered surfaces and painted brick infill, topped by an old plain-tile roof that is hipped to the left. The building has a brick ridge stack positioned to the right of center and follows a three-unit lobby-entry plan. It is a single storey with an attic and has a three-window range that runs at right angles to the street.
The entrance consists of a 20th-century panelled door set within a 20th-century gabled porch located to the right of center. The windows display irregular placement and include 20th-century casements. There are half-hipped dormers on both the left and right sides, with the right side featuring 19th-century two-light casements. The left return facing the street has a gabled dormer with a two-light casement. Although the interior was not inspected, it is said to contain a newel winder staircase located at the rear of the stack.
