Description
This is a house, now divided into two dwellings, located on the south side of The Causeway in Steventon. It likely originated in the 16th century and was raised in the 17th century. The building is a mix of timber framing with painted brick infill, and rendered sections on the left cross-wing. The roof is covered in plain tiles, with a half-hipped section on the right side. There is a brick end stack on the left and a brick ridge stack to the right of centre. The house is two storeys high with a single-storey-and-attic cross-wing to the left. There is a sash window in the door surround, positioned to the right of centre. The main part of the building has three-light casement windows in a three-window range, with a 20th-century casement window on the first floor to the left. The cross-wing has 20th-century windows.
