Description

The Raised Causeway is a structure likely dating from the 14th century. It consists of a raised earthwork causeway featuring a rubblestone pathway and stone steps. It is believed to have been constructed by the Black monks of Steventon. The causeway is noted in "Buildings of England; Berkshire" published in 1975 and in "The Oxford Village Book" by N. Hammond, published in 1983.
