Description

This building is a waterside warehouse or fish house located opposite Clarke's Alley in Tewkesbury. It dates from the early 19th century, though it may be older. The structure is made of painted brick with some light timber-framing and has a plain tile roof. It is a small but tall rectangular building with a gabled roof, rising directly from the Mill Avon on its west side, and consists of two storeys and an attic.

On the riverfront, there are two very small casements set deep at the eaves in the light timber-framing. Above these, three two-light small-pane casements are positioned high on the first floor. At the ground floor, there are two segmental-headed casements flanking a wide square loading door. The south gable features a 20th-century door and thin horizontal timbers, while the plain north gable has an inserted 20th-century door.

The road front is entirely brickwork and has two tiny eaves casements above two high-set four-pane casements, which flank a plank loading door. The ground floor includes a blocked window to the right and a pair of plank doors beneath a sagging soldier arch. The entire structure is leaning towards the east, likely due to foundation settlement. The interior has not been inspected.
