Description

No. 1 Mill Street is a civic building, originally known as the Museum, dating from around 1840. It is constructed of stucco and features a slate gable roof. The building is two storeys high, with a blind upper storey that has a central coved niche flanked by two Ionic pilasters and additional plain pilasters. Above this, there is a moulded pediment. The ground floor has a 20th-century shopfront. On the left side, there are six plain pilasters on the first floor, with 8/8 and 6/6 sash windows, and fixed lights on the ground floor.
