Description

No. 9, Castle Street is a late 18th-century shop and dwelling. The building is constructed of brick with a 20th-century composite tile roof and a stack to the rear. It is three storeys high and has a three-window front. The lower windows are 6/6 sash windows in broad, beaded cases, set beneath gauged brick flat arches. The second-floor windows are smaller 3/3 sashes. There are moulded and ornamented brick eaves. A 20th-century shopfront is present, along with an entrance to the dwelling on the left side. Gauged brick flat arches are visible over the fascia board.
