Description

White Lodge comprises two houses, Nos. 2 and 3, built in the 19th century on Mill Street in Ludlow. No. 3 is a three-storey house with a cellar, and has a five-window front. It features late 19th-century 2x2 sash windows, with a similar window above. The building has a moulded parapet and a stone-coped gable to the left. The central entrance has a 6-panel door (now glazed) with a fanlight, sheltered by a moulded open pediment supported by fluted consoles and pilasters. To the right of the entrance is a late 19th-century 2x2 sash window, and to the left a tripartite window with 1x1, 2x2, and 1x1 sashes. No. 2 is a recessed wing with a three-storey, single-window front. This section has a 6x6 sash window beneath a cambered head, and an 8x8 sash window above. The entrance is a part-glazed panelled door in a panelled case, sheltered by a moulded flat hood on pilasters; a 8x8 sash window sits to the left, also beneath a cambered head. The right gable is rendered, with a large purlin visible. A further wing to the rear has a brick stack, a 20th-century plain tile roof, and a stone-coped gable. No. 2 was originally listed on 28th October 1969.
