Description
The Blue Boar Inn is an 18th-century house that has been converted into an inn. It features a stucco exterior and a shallow pitched slate roof, with a brick multiple stack and blind arcade buttresses on the left rear, and a brick stack on the right rear. The building stands three stories tall with a cellar and has a three-window range. The central window is an 8/8 sash set in a moulded wood architrave, flanked by two 12/12 sashes in similar settings. Above, there are three more 8/8 sashes in matching settings. The entrance has a central 20th-century metal roller blind door in a panelled case, also with a moulded architrave and a moulded pediment hood above. To the left, there are two 12/12 sashes from the 20th century in similar settings. The left gable shows a visible purlin below the current pitch. The right-hand wall of the passage to the rear is made of rubble with dressed quoins. There is an additional range to the rear constructed of rubble and brick, featuring a 20th-century 8/8 sash on the ground floor and two blocked openings above. The 18th-century twin gabled rear range has casement windows on the first and second floors, set under timber lintels, with blocked openings in the gables.
