Description
The Bull Inn is a house that has been converted into an inn. It dates back to the 16th century and features a timber frame. The building was refronted in the 18th century and extended to the north in the early 19th century. The exterior is finished in painted stucco and roughcast, with three windows facing the street and a low slate roof. The ground floor has an early 19th-century public house entrance that includes two doors and two windows, framed by slim pilasters and a fascia with a moulded cornice. The first floor features 18th-century 6/6 sash windows. The northern block of the building has a double roof and is made of red brick, which is painted on the street side, and covered with old red tiles. The ground and first floors have triple-hung sash windows. There are central chimneystacks on the north gable ends. The rear elevation includes ground floor triple-hung sash windows and two first floor 6/6 sash windows of different sizes. Inside, the building has a three-window range with a chamfered and stopped beam, and remnants of a cross passage on the south side.
