Description
The stable block at Much Hadham Hall, built around 1726-1729, is a notable structure that complements the main house. It features a long red brick design with a slightly projecting central archway topped by a pediment, flanked by projecting wings. The roof is hipped and covered with old tiles. Distinctive architectural details include dentilled brick eaves and a chequered brick floor band. On the west side, there are two pairs of windows with rubbed brick lintels on either side of the center, which were filled in during the early 19th century and fitted with hinged top ventilators. A small round light is located in the pediment, while the rear elevation displays original dummy windows. A central wrought iron weathervane is mounted on a tall wooden pedestal.
