Description
This milestone, located approximately 120 meters northeast of the Horse Shoe Inn, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of white painted stone with black lettering and has a rounded, ledged top. The top of the milestone is lettered radially with "MILES," and it indicates distances to "B.CASTLE 8" and "SHREWSBURY 12." The Horse Shoe Inn is associated with the nearby area of Ratlinghope.
