Description
Stanbatch Cottage and the attached cowhouse were built in 1876, as indicated by the datestone above the door. The cottage is constructed from uncoursed limestone rubble with painted brick dressings and features a slate roof with overhanging eaves and verges. It has a slightly projecting integral end stack with a red brick shaft on the left and a brick ridge stack on the right. The building is two storeys high and has two windows with a central door located under a gabled brick porch. The metal casements have Gothic glazing, and the ground floor windows consist of three lights under cambered heads. The cowhouse, which is contemporary with the cottage, includes a hayloft above and is attached under the same roof to the east. There is an entrance on the left side through double doors set under a broad cambered arch. The overall design is picturesque.
