Description
Walkmill is a cottage, likely built in the late 18th century, with an extension added to the right side in the mid-19th century. The structure is made of uncoursed limestone rubble and features slate roofs. It has a projecting end stack with dripstones and capping on the left side, along with a ridge stack at the junction with the 19th-century addition, which was formerly an end stack. The cottage is two storeys high and has irregular window arrangements, including three 19th-century casements on the first floor and four 19th- and 20th-century windows on the ground floor, one of which was originally a door. The current entrance is located to the right and is accessed through a late 20th-century stable-type door with a 19th-century segmental head. At the left end, there is a two-storey late 18th-century range that runs at right angles to the main building. Walkmill forms a picturesque group with Walkmill Bridge located to the south.
