Description
The Old Smithy, located about 15 meters north of the Horse Shoe Inn, is a disused smithy dating from the late 19th century. It is constructed of rubblestone with red brick dressings and features a graded slate roof with an integral ridge stack on the south side. The building has a roughly L-shaped plan, with a long range that projects to the south and a short range that is rounded at the north-west corner. On the left side, there are wide-ledged double doors set under a broad cambered arch, and to the right, there is a hatch. The long range also includes a Victorian letter box in its north wall. The Old Smithy is included for group value with the Horse Shoe Inn.
