Description

Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, likely with an earlier core. It is constructed of red brick and has a slate roof. The building features a three-room plan and rises to three storeys. Notable architectural details include a dentil brick eaves cornice, an off-centre brick ridge stack to the right, and an external brick end stack to the left. The front has three windows, which consist of three-light segmental-headed 19th-century wooden casements, except for a two-light central window on the first floor and another two-light central window on the second floor, both flanked by blind windows. The entrance includes a central segmental-headed 20th-century half-glazed door and a segmental-headed boarded door to the far left. At the rear, there is a one-storey lean-to addition with a lateral brick stack. To the left, there is a 19th-century structure that was likely a former service wing and stable, which is two storeys tall and has undergone partial rebuilding and refenestration in the 20th century. This section features a 20th-century glazed door off-centre to the left, a two-leaf boarded door to the far left, and a boarded loft door in the left-hand gable end. The interior has not been inspected but is reported to contain some reused timbers.
