Description
This building is a barn, now used as stables, located approximately 20 meters north of Tudor House. It dates from the early 17th century and has undergone later alterations. The structure features a weatherboarded and corrugated iron-clad timber frame, with parts rebuilt in mid-19th century red brick, and has a plain tile roof. It has two levels, with fixed-light windows on the left and center; the left window has a segmental head, and there is an eaves hatch to the right. The barn includes three stable doors. Inside, the framing is visible, with vertical posts and some horizontal members creating square panels, and weatherboarded partitions on low red brick walls. The roof is a staggered single-purlin design in four bays, supported by three queen-strut trusses and one queen-post truss, with lofts over the left and two right bays.
