Description

This barn, located approximately 12 meters east of Wood Bank, dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some later alterations. It features a timber frame clad in corrugated iron and a slate roof. The barn has two levels, with access provided by wide 20th-century double doors at the rear on the right side. Inside, the framing is visible, showcasing rectangular panels with two sections from the cill to the wall-plate, along with long straight tension braces. The roof consists of a single purlin design in two bays, supported by collar and tie beam end trusses, and a queen-post truss in the center, with a loft above the left bay. This barn is included for its group value.
