Description
Fairview is an early 19th century house, likely built incorporating elements of an earlier structure, with later additions and alterations. The house is constructed of painted brick with a concrete tile roof. It is two storeys high, characterised by a dentilled eaves cornice, and has a three-window front featuring 16-paned glazing bar sashes with slightly cambered heads. A 20th-century glazed door is set within a 19th-century pedimented doorcase, located between the second and third windows from the left. A prominent red brick ridge stack is positioned to the left of the centre, and a smaller integral end stack is located to the right. A mid-19th century, two-storey, full-length lean-to addition extends to the rear. Spear-shaped railings with urn-shaped standards are attached to a low sandstone wall at the front of the property. The railings are included in the listing for their contribution to the group value of the surrounding buildings.
