Description
Moreton Cottage is a cottage dated 1759, built for Thomas and Martha Webb, with later additions and alterations mainly from the late 20th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tile roof with coped verges supported by carved stone kneelers. The building has one storey and an attic, highlighted by a dentilled eaves cornice. The front includes 20th-century leaded casements with segmental heads on the left and center, alongside a segmental-headed 20th-century boarded door on the right. A prominent 20th-century gabled eaves dormer is located at the center. There is an integral end stack on the left and a brown brick stack immediately behind the ridge on the far right. An oval-shaped datestone, positioned just below the eaves to the left of center, is inscribed with "Thos. and Martha Webb/1759". The prominent 20th-century additions to the rear are not considered to have special architectural interest.
