Description
The stable block, now disused, dates from the early 18th century and has later additions and alterations. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped plain tile roof. The building is one storey high with an attic that was used for the groom's accommodation, and it has a dentilled eaves cornice.
The front has a wide elliptical stable arch with double doors located to the left of the center, beneath a slightly projecting stepped gable that includes a fixed-light window at the upper level. To the left, there is a rectangular fixed-light window with a gauged head, and to the right, a similar doorway with two inserted flanking doorways. The section to the right, which is roughly contemporary but separated by a straight joint, has two entrances, with the right entrance featuring a segmental head. A red brick ridge stack is positioned to the right of the stepped gable.
Attached to the left of the stable block is a wall, also from the early 18th century, made of red brick with sandstone coping. This wall is approximately 40 meters long and includes pilasters and a chamfered plinth on the north side.
Inside the stable, the cross-wall of the section to the right is timber framed and supports a collar and tie beam roof truss.
