Description
This barn, located approximately 20 meters north of Cwm Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some later alterations. It features a weatherboarded timber frame set on a high rubblestone plinth, which is lower at the right end, and is topped with a corrugated iron roof. The original structure consists of three framed bays, with two additional bays added slightly later. The barn has two levels and includes three eaves hatches and four doorways, one of which is a wide opening to the right of the center, along with a window to the left. Inside, the framing is visible, showcasing irregular square and rectangular panels and jowled wall posts. The roof contains a mix of queen-strut trusses and raking struts connecting the tie beams to the principal rafters, including a double truss at the junction between the two sections. There is a continuous loft, although it is missing in the third bay from the left as of the last survey in August 1986. The barn is included for its group value.
