Description

Nos. 7 and 8 High Street is a pair of shops or offices dating from around 1800. The buildings are constructed of stucco over brick, with a roof that is not visible behind the parapet eaves. They rise to four storeys and feature a six-window range, arranged in a 4-2 pattern. There is a late 20th-century shop front that has been inserted. The upper windows are two-pane sashes, and there is a moulded cornice beneath the attic windows, some of which are blind. The high parapet eaves conceal a dormer window, and there are cast-iron rainwater goods located to the right. The buildings have gable end stacks.
