Description

Nos. 13 and 14 High Street is a pair of shops dating from around 1800. The buildings are constructed of brick and topped with a Welsh slate roof. They are three stories high and feature three bays. One shop front dates from around 1900 and the other is from the late 20th century. The older shop front includes carved heads that serve as console brackets for the fascia and has carved spandrels at the corners of its large window panes. The upper windows are 12-pane, flush framed sashes with flat arched stuccoed heads that have voussoirs and moulded keystones. The attic storey has 6-pane sash windows. A modillion eaves cornice runs along the top, and there are cast-iron pots on both the gable and axial chimney stacks.
