Description
The former Canal Maintenance Yard Workshop is an early to mid-19th century building located in Stourport on Severn at Parkes Quay. It is constructed of red brick and features a plain tiled roof with a brick stack at the left end. The building has a brick dentilled eaves course and faces onto a yard. It is two storeys high and has a four-window range of round-arched cast-iron windows with glazing bars. There is a central doorway on the first floor with a gable above it, and two large segmentally arched openings on the ground floor.
On the right gable facing the canal, there is a doorway with a round-arched cast-iron window that has Gothick traceried glazing. The rear of the building is blank. Projecting forward on the left side are single-storey extensions with lean-to roofs. The furthest extension has a Welsh slate roof and two brick stacks. Closest to the main range, there is a round-arched cast-iron window with Gothick traceried glazing, followed by a wide cart entry, three two-light casements, and two doorways.
