Description

Wesley House is a late 15th-century house and shop, altered in the 18th century. It is located in Fish Street, Shrewsbury. The building is constructed with painted brick and render over timber-frame, and has a plain tiled roof. The two-storey, three-window front has painted brick to the ground floor. A central five-panelled door is sheltered by a canopy, flanked by paired four-pane sash windows. A further doorway with a canopy is situated to the right. The upper storey is rendered, with three two-light casement windows. Gable end stacks are present. Exposed brickwork is visible in the gable, with 18th-century brick to the ground floor and 20th-century brickwork above. A parallel rear range may have originally been an open hall. No. 1A, which is also listed, was added in 1969.
