Description
This building, located at 2 and 3 Fish Street in Shrewsbury, is a pair of cottages that have been combined into one house. They date back to the late 15th century and feature a timber-framed structure that is partially rendered, topped with a plain tiled roof. The house is two stories high and has a three-window range.
On the ground floor, some timber framing is exposed, with brick panel infill. To the left, there is a doorway with a shallow arched timber lintel. Flanking this doorway are two three-light casements with leaded lights, alongside a smaller two-light casement that may have been added in place of a former second doorway. The upper storey juts out, supported by a plain bressumer, and features casement windows of four and two lights, creating an almost continuous band of windows. The roof includes a hipped gabled dormer and there is a gable end stack. At the rear, there is a parallel wing that may have originally served as an open hall.
