Description
Rose Cottage is a pair of cottages, now combined into a single house, dating from the late 17th century. The building was altered around 1930. It originally had timber framing, but most of this is now hidden behind brick cladding, with some remaining visible. The roof is covered with plain tiles, and there are a single gable and a single ridge stack. The cottage has two floors and two bays. A full-width lean-to addition was added to the rear in the mid-20th century. The windows are modern casements with glazing bars. The ground floor front openings have segmental arches above the doors. Both front doors have gabled hoods supported by posts with curved brackets; the door on the right is partly glazed. Each front door has a casement window to its right, and above the doors are two small casements. The right gable displays traces of corner posts and a tie beam, along with three casements. The left gable shows a rendered tie beam and one casement above.
