Description
The Towpath Footbridge, built around 1792, is a notable structure made of ashlar stone. It features a chamfered square opening and a chamfered sill band, along with a battered parapet wall. The bridge has an S-plan layout, and the south side includes a late 20th-century steel floodgate. It is likely that this bridge was constructed concurrently with the Beeston Cut by the Trent Navigation Company.
