Description
Meadow Road Bridge is a canal overbridge built around 1792 for the Trent Navigation Company. It is constructed of brick, partly rendered, and features an ashlar parapet with a rusticated string course. The bridge has a single stilted asymmetrical arch that spans the canal and towpath, with an ashlar soffit. The curved parapet wall is topped with gabled coping and has four chamfered square piers. On the south side, there are two half-round guard irons. This bridge crosses the Beeston Cut, which was built by the Trent Navigation Company in connection with Jessop's Nottingham Canal between 1792 and 1796.
