Description

Erewash Bridge is a towpath bridge built around 1792. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a chamfered impost band and sill. The bridge has a keystoned segmental arch and curved parapet walls, which are supported by four chamfered square corner piers. On the south side, there is a late 20th-century concrete pier, lintel, and a pair of flood gates. This bridge was likely built concurrently with the Beeston Cut by the Trent Navigation Company.
