Description
No. 20 Brown Lane is a cottage that dates from the mid 17th century, with later alterations in the 18th and 19th centuries. It was originally timber framed, with red brick infill added in the 18th and 19th centuries. The roof is covered with plain tiles and features a left gable and a single ridge with red brick stacks. The cottage has one and a half storeys and consists of four bays. There are two large Yorkshire sash windows with glazing bars, a single fixed light window to the right, and a doorway with a plank door on the far right. Above the doorway is a small casement window. The visible timbers include the remains of two posts and two braces.
